Third Monday of Advent
Say In today’s passage, the angel Gabriel is back, but this time he tells Mary that she will have a baby.
Read Luke 1:26-38
Light the two purple candles and the pink candle.
Say This passage gives us important details. Verse 26 starts by saying “in the sixth month.” This is referring to the sixth months of Elizabeth’s pregnancy that we learned about yesterday.
Ask What did Gabriel say to both Zechariah and Mary? Why do you think he says “do not be afraid?” How else is this passage similar to the one we read yesterday? How is it different?
Say We will read this passage again next week, but for today, think about all the feelings Mary must have experienced.
